Kovan Chicken Rice!!

Chicken rice is everywhere in Singapore, one must learn to differentiate from the so-sos and the heavenly tasty ones.

People who are familiar with Kovan would definitely know about this famous chicken rice stall. The queue during dinner time (I’ve only been there for dinner) is most inspiring for other stalls (I bet they are all secretly jealous of the good business!).

This stall is different in the sense that it serves its chicken separately on a small plate, leaving your rice in its purest state. They give a generous helping of their secret sauce and drench the slices of chicken in it. Those fussy and lazy eaters need not worry cos it’s only selling boneless white chicken, ie breast meat, but it’s so tender that you secretly doubt if they are really chicken breast meat!

Their chili and dark soy sauce complements really well with the chicken rice, unlike some cheapo stalls who give you really diluted chilli sauce and depressing dark soy sauce. Full of oomph!

I think this stall beats Maxwell for the chicken rice, which is proof of how delicious it is! $2.30 for a small plate, and $3.30 for a large plate –> Well worth it!

However, it’s best eaten there, and not packed back, as the sauce sorts of loses its flavour on the way home..
